Because of this, every recurring event is considered a separate event, and when a customer books one event, they are not<\/strong> automatically added to all recurring events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Similar to\u00a0creating regular Events, you need to access\u00a0the\u00a0\u201cEvents\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0page, click on the\u00a0\u201c+ New Event\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0button in the top right corner or the\u00a0\u201c+\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0on the bottom right corner of the page, and the\u00a0\u201cNew Event\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0dialog will appear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The details of creating events are described in the Events section<\/a>, so we will jump straight to configuring a recurring event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n When an event is being created, set the date or the date range when it\u2019s going to be held; choose the time, and below that, enable the \u201cThis is a recurring event\u201d<\/strong> check box.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In there, choose:<\/p>\n\n\n\n When an event is set to be recurring, options to apply a certain logic when the booking opens<\/strong> and when the booking closes<\/strong> will be shown below.<\/p>\n\n\n Enabling the \u201cApply this to all recurring events\u201d<\/strong> option will apply the options from when the booking opens <\/strong>and when the booking closes <\/strong>to all recurring events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Example: <\/strong>If the booking for the first event opens on July 31st at midnight, the booking for all recurring events<\/strong> will also open on July 31st at midnight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n If the \u201cApply this to all recurring events\u201d<\/strong> option is disabled, the plugin will calculate the time for opening and closing the booking based on the selected time for the first event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Example:\u00a0<\/strong>If the booking for the first event opens on July 31st at midnight, this would mean that it would open 34 hours before the event starts (remember, the 1st event in our example starts on August 1st, at 10:00 AM). So, when you\u00a0disable<\/strong>\u00a0the \u201cApply this to all recurring events\u201d option, Wellness Unity will apply the same logic to recurring events, so an event that\u2019s set to repeat on August 8 will be open for booking on August 7th, at midnight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The remaining options are the same as creating a regular event, so this will be skipped, and we\u2019ll move on to displaying and using Recurring Events on the front-end.<\/p>\n\n\n\n As mentioned in the beginning \u2013 each recurring event will be considered a separate event, so when you check your Events page, you will see a list of similarly named events but each one with a different ID:<\/p>\n\n\n We configured this event so the 1st event in the list opens on July 31st, at midnight, and that this will not<\/strong> apply to upcoming events, so you\u2019ll notice that each event is in the \u201cUpcoming\u201d status. If we had configured the 1st event to open immediately (as soon as we create it), the status would be \u201cOpen\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n If we modify the 1st event like this:<\/p>\n\n\n You\u2019ll see that the booking opened immediately for the 1st event, but since we disabled the \u201cApply this to all recurring events\u201d<\/strong> option, the upcoming events are still \u201cUpcoming\u201d:<\/p>\n\n\n Let\u2019s access the back-end again, and show you what happens when we make some changes. If you want to change the price of one event, when you click on \u201cSave\u201d in the bottom right corner, you\u2019ll see a small box pop up asking you if you want to update the following events:<\/p>\n\n\n If you click on \u201cNo, just this one\u201d<\/strong>, the price will change only for the event you\u2019re editing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n If you click on \u201cUpdate following<\/strong>\u201c<\/strong>, the price will change for all events that will be held after this one.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Recurring events are events that occur on a repeating schedule.
